One day a farmer’s donkey fell down into a well. The animal cried piteously for hours as the farmer tried to figure out what to do. Finally, he decided the animal was old, and the well needed to be covered up anyway; it just wasn’t worth it to retrieve the donkey. He invited all his neighbors to come over and help him. They all grabbed a shovel and began to shovel dirt into the well. At first, the donkey realized what was happening and cried horribly. Then, to everyone’s amazement he quieted down. A few shovel loads later, the farmer finally looked down the well. He was astonished at what he saw. With each shovel of dirt that hit his back, the donkey was doing something amazing. He would shake it off and take a step up. As the farmer’s neighbors continued to shovel dirt on top of the animal, he would shake it off and take a step up. Pretty soon, everyone was amazed as the donkey stepped up over the edge of the well and happily trotted off! Life is going to shovel dirt on you, all kinds of dirt. The trick to getting out of the well is to shake it off and take a step up. Each of our troubles is a steppingstone. We can get out of the deepest wells just by not stopping, never giving up! Shake it off and take a step up. Remember the five simple rules to be happy: 1. Free your heart from hatred - Forgive. 2. Free your mind from worries - Most never happen. 3. Live simply and appreciate what you have. 4. Give more. 5. Expect less NOW ———— Enough of that crap … The donkey later came back, and bit the shit out of the farmer who had tried to bury him. The gash from the bite got infected, and the farmer eventually died in agony from septic shock. MORAL FROM TODAY’S LESSON: When you do something wrong, and try to cover your ass, it always comes back to bite you.

One of the concepts of life is to think beyond the norm, to approach a problem from a different view; if doctors hadn’t thought beyond the norm about HIV/AIDS & Cancer, then more & more people would’ve been left to die; if the forefathers of our countries hadn’t realised what they did, alot of countries wouldn’t have existed for us to proudly have been born in; if we don’t think beyond the norm about someone else’s mind & thought process, then we’ll never advance, irrespective of what Apple creates next.

Should I Change My Theme?

I’ve been thinking about changing my theme for a long time now, & am getting double minded, so was wondering whether you could help, if you’d be ever so kind :)

So heres my dilemma:

I’ve been thinking about changing my theme, but am double minded cause i want a 2 sidebar theme, or one that allows me to easily go into the html & add the other side bar, like my current theme. But, after long & tiring looks at the themes, i’ve decided to go for a one sidebar theme.

But the problem is, what should i keep from my current 2 sidebars, & cut out?? I had a look at my pages & found they were a terrible mess, so thats why i’m asking.

This is the problem with being someone who loves to customize anything & everything you can….its a frustrating & confusing process when you have to do it again.

I’m not changing my tumblr theme, read on to know why:

http://TUMBLR-LAYOUTSDOT.ME:

A site where people smart with HTML submit their tumblr themes, with a variety of themes for everyone, with categories to save time searching for that theme :)

PRO’S:

The HTML is simpler than Tumblrs official themes, so its easier for lil ol me to edit.

CONS:

Some of the theme backgrounds aren’t that smooth/sophisticated. & since they’re not official tumblr themes, the Appearance tab doesn’t apply to theme :S

TUMBLRS OFFICIAL THEMES:

We all know the theme garden, with all the themes you can imagine.

PROS:

The themes are better, with more features like twitter updates, pages & portraits.

CONS:

The HTML is much more complicated, making it harder for me to edit. If i knew tumblr html, you wouldn’t see me complaining about my theme.

Well, i’m sticking to my current theme, because its the MOST EASILY customisable tumblr theme i’ve come across. I’m trying my best to edit it (pages links are now showing; & i’ve edited the side bars), & i’m trying to be creative with the background….idk..^^;

I’m Sorry But…

“I’ve been active on Tumblr for quite awhile, & i have to say i’m amazed with the place; its basically a teen/tween place, thats more about the visual’s such as photos & art rather than the words (which explains why the majority of themes have tiny sized text posts :| )

If theres one thing i don’t like, its vulgarity; look, you may like the ‘attitude’, but that very attitude is the exact reason why you don’t see me laughing at films like the Hangover or Superbad or something… and do you honestly think i come to tumblr for attitude?

I follow 18 people, & have 31 liked posts; all the liked posts & the people i’m following are people that either give me something to think about, laugh about, or simply smile about. I DO NOT want to hear about what you think about somebody, or see you calling someone names; when i come on my dashboard, i want happy things, things that i like, thing that move me….not things that make me think the world is as screwed up as a think.

Sorry for the rant, but just had to get this out….

ITS WORTH THE READ:
There was a man who worked for the Post Office whose job was to process all the mail that had illegible addresses.
One day, a letter came addressed in a shaky handwriting to God with no actual address. He thought he should open it to see what it was about.
The letter read:
Dear God,
I am an 83 year old widow, living on a very small pension.
Yesterday someone stole my purse. It had $100 in it, which was all the money I had until my next pension payment.
Next Sunday is Christmas, and I had invited two of my friends over for dinner. Without that money, I have nothing to buy food with, have no family to turn to, and you are my only hope... Can you please help me?

The postal worker was touched. He showed the letter to all the other workers. Each one dug into his or her wallet and came up with a few dollars.
By the time he made the rounds, he had collected $96, which they put into an envelope and sent to the woman.
The rest of the day, all the workers felt a warm glow thinking of Edna and the dinner she would be able to share with her friends.
Christmas came and went.
A few days later, another letter came from the same old lady to God.
All the workers gathered around while the letter was opened.
It read:
Dear God,
How can I ever thank you enough for what you did for me?
Because of your gift of love, I was able to fix a glorious dinner for my friends. We had a very nice day and I told my friends of your wonderful gift.
By the way, there was $4 missing. I think it might have been those bastards at the post office.

This Is A Real Woman

Its Worth The Read:
My dad was in the airline business, and he just told me a story about a woman he knew. She was very tough, told the dirtiest jokes, and when she got mad, God damn she got mad. One time they were flying from Gawadar to Karachi. A guy of barely twenty was on a wheel chair, and along with him a girl of about 17 holding a child in one arm, and in the other, her husbands foot. Apparently someone cut of the guys foot (its Baluchistan, alot feuds happen there). The woman went up to the couple, and got them seated, and put the foot in a brown paper bag. This followed;
Woman: Where are you going?
Girl: To Karachi
Woman: Why?
Girl: To get my husbands foot fixed
Woman: Do you have any money for it?
Girl: No
After take off, the woman went to the mic and made an announcement, explaining the couples situation;
WOMAN: ....so this is the situation, and we need some donations.
And she got those donations; she made everyone pay, from the cockpit to the crew to each and every single passenger

My Dad Gets The Best Email (part 2)

Paddy and Mick are walking down a street in London .
Paddy happens to look in one of the shop windows and sees a sign that catches his eye.
The sign said: "Suits £5.00 each, Shirts £2.00 each, Trousers £2.50 per pair".
Paddy: "Mick, look! We could buy a whole lot of dose, And when we get back to Ireland we could make a fortune. Now when we go into the shop, you be quiet, OK? Just let me do all the talking, cause if they hear our accent, they might not be nice to us. I'll speak in my best English accent."
Mick: "Roight y'are, Paddy, I'll keep me mouth shut, so I will"
They go in and Paddy says: "I'll take 50 suits at £5.00 each, 100 shirts at £2.00 each and 50 pairs of trousers at £2.50 each. I'll back up my van and..."
The owner of the shop interrupts: "You're from Ireland , aren't you?"
Paddy: "Well... Yes, how der hell d' y' know dat?"
